The diagnosis of pancreatitis usually requires a comprehensive judgment based on clinical symptoms, physical examination, laboratory examination, imaging examination, etc.
1. Clinical symptoms The
doctor will ask the patient about the symptoms, the nature of the pain, the onset time and the cause to understand the condition.
2. Physical examination The
doctor will perform abdominal palpation to check for abdominal tenderness and muscle tension.
Laboratory
tests include blood tests, urine tests, etc. Blood tests assess the presence and severity of pancreatitis by detecting white blood cell counts, C-reactive protein, pancreatic enzymes and inflammatory markers in the blood; urine tests are pancreatic enzymes and other related markers in the urine
.
Imagingexamination includes abdominal ultrasound, CT, magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography, etc., the purpose is to help check the shape and size of the pancreas, and whether there is biliary obstruction or pancreatic cyst; assess the presence of inflammation, necrosis, cyst; assess the anatomy of the pancreas and biliary tract, and detect whether there is stone or obstruction.
