Is esophageal squamous epithelial papilloma serious?

Your health, my unwavering commitment.
Esophageal squamous cell papilloma
is usually due to dysplasia of esophageal squamous epithelium, which is usually caused by benign lesions such as chronic inflammation or reflux esophagitis. There is no obvious discomfort in the early stage. Timely treatment usually has a good prognosis and is generally not serious. Although esophageal squamous cell papilloma is a benign tumor, it still needs attention and treatment. If left untreated, squamous papilloma of the esophagus may gradually enlarge and cause symptoms such as esophageal stenosis and dysphagia. In addition, if the tumor ruptures or is infected, it may also cause symptoms such as inflammation, pain, and even complications such as esophageal perforation and periesophageal abscess, which are usually more serious.
