Gastric antrum biopsy refers to the use of gastroscopy to remove part of gastric mucosa tissue for pathological analysis.
When patients do gastroscopy found atrophic gastritis, gastric dysplasia, intestinal metaplasia and other conditions, usually need to perform gastric antrum biopsy, help to understand the disease progression, but also to determine the glands and morphological changes of gastric tissue cells. For patients suspected of gastric malignancy, antral biopsy is usually required. When the pathological test is benign, there is usually no undue concern.
