How to determine the amount of upper gastrointestinal bleeding

Guiding you towards a healthier tomorrow.
Upper gastrointestinal bleeding can be judged by stool color, clinical symptoms, fecal occult blood test and other methods.
When the patient's stool appears black, it means that the upper gastrointestinal bleeding volume reaches about 50-100ml. When the stool color appears tarry, it usually means that the bleeding volume is about 300-500ml. When the patient has hematemesis, it means that the bleeding volume is about 300ml. When the patient has fatigue, rapid drop in blood pressure, pale skin and other symptoms, it means that the upper gastrointestinal bleeding volume is large, usually about 1000-1500ml. When the patient's fecal occult blood test result is negative, it means that the bleeding volume is less than 5ml, and when the patient's fecal test result is positive, it means that the bleeding volume is greater than 5ml.
