What is Optic Glioma?

Your health, my mission. Your recovery, my joy.
Optic glioma in children can be treated by surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, etc.
1. Surgical treatment
If the lesion is limited to the optic nerve, causing vision loss and blindness, transcranial optic nerve tumor resection can be arranged without contraindications, which can remove the lesion and prevent the lesion from invading the optic chiasm.
2. Radiotherapy
If transcranial optic nerve tumor resection cannot remove the complete lesion, the lesion invades the optic chiasm and optic tract, radiotherapy can be used to remove the residual lesion and improve the prognosis.
3. Chemotherapy
If the vision decreases rapidly, carboplatin injection and vincristine sulfate injection can be used for chemotherapy to delay the speed of vision decline.
