How to judge acanthamoeba keratitis

Acanthamoeba keratitis can be diagnosed by corneal smear cytology, confocal microscopy, pathological section staining, etc.

1. corneal smear cytology

If acanthamoeba is cultured, it can be confirmed that acanthamoeba is infected.

2. confocal microscopy

can directly observe all layers of cornea, check for cysts without acanthamoeba, and help diagnose acanthamoeba keratitis.

3. pathological section staining

can be used to make specimens of corneal lesions removed during keratoplasty for examination to confirm pathological diagnosis.
