What are the causes of eye floaters?

The eye floaters may be caused by physiological factors, and may also be related to retinal vasculitis, intraocular tumors and other diseases.

1. Physiological factors lead to

different degrees of degeneration of the vitreous body with aging. Due to abnormal refractive system of the eye, floaters may generally occur.

Inflammation of the peripheral retinal vessels in patients with retinal vasculitis leads to liquefaction and atrophy of the vitreous body, and floaters may occur.

3. Intraocular tumors in patients

lead to continuous pressure damage and necrosis of the vitreous body. Parallel light enters the eye and is blocked by damaged tissues. Floaters may occur.
