Small eye stones usually fall off by themselves, but larger eye stones usually cannot fall off by themselves.
Eye stones are mainly caused by a large number of sand entering the eye for a long time and solidifying with exfoliated epithelial cells and denatured white blood cells. If the patient has small eye stones, they can fall off by themselves after a period of time, but they do not disappear by themselves. Generally, they are discharged out of the eyelid membrane. If the patient has large eye stones, they usually cannot fall off by themselves. The patient should follow the doctor's advice to remove the stones under the slit lamp to prevent long-term existence from causing corneal abrasions.
