Does amblyopia lead to blindness?

Dedicated to your healing journey.
Amblyopia generally does not cause blindness.
Amblyopia is an eye disease in which the visual system is dysplastic, resulting in abnormal function of the visual center of the cerebral cortex, resulting in abnormal visual development. Since it is not an organic disease, it will not cause irreversible damage to the optic nerve. It will only cause vision lower than normal, so it usually does not cause blindness. In general, if amblyopia is discovered in time and active treatment is given, most children's vision can be improved to varying degrees, and even normal vision can be restored; conversely, if diagnosis and treatment are delayed, although it will not lead to insomnia, the state of low vision in children can last for life.
