How is eyeball rupture caused?

Eye rupture is usually associated with violence. The

patient may suffer from severe visual impairment, hyphema, decreased intraocular pressure, and intraocular tissue incarceration due to boxing, traffic accidents, stone splashes, firecrackers, and other violent factors acting on the eye.

If the patient has hope of regaining sight, debridement and suture should be performed as soon as possible to promote wound healing. If the degree of eye rupture is severe and the patient has no hope of regaining sight, the eyeball should be removed as soon as possible to prevent local infection.
