What is rheumatism?

Building a healthier future together.
Rheumatic disease is caused by genetic factors, physical and chemical factors, autoimmune reactions, etc.
1. Genetic factors
Rheumatic disease has family aggregation, certain gene variants can increase the risk of individuals suffering from rheumatic disease. These gene variants may affect the immune system function, bone metabolism or inflammatory response mechanisms, leading to the occurrence of rheumatism.
2. Physical and chemical factors
Long-term exposure to cold, humid environment, or exposure to certain chemicals, such as silica dust, asbestos, etc., may also increase the risk of rheumatism.
3. Autoimmune reaction
One of the core pathological mechanisms of rheumatism is autoimmune reaction. The immune system mistakenly regards its own tissues as foreign threats and produces antibodies or cells to attack these tissues, resulting in inflammation and damage.
