What is the reason for yellow stool color?

Restoring balance, one patient at a time.
Stool color yellow may be related to food pigment accumulation, gastrointestinal dysfunction, hemolytic anemia and other reasons.
1, food pigment accumulation
If the patient recently ingested too much caroten-rich food, such as carrots, squash, oranges, etc., part of the pigment will be discharged from the liver, and part of the pigment will accumulate in the intestine, with the stool excreted, showing yellow stool.
2, gastrointestinal dysfunction
gastrointestinal dysfunction may lead to reduced bile secretion or blocked bile excretion, so that the bilirubin content in the stool increases, resulting in yellow stool color.
3, hemolytic anemia
If the patient suffers from hemolytic anemia, red blood cells rupture too fast, hemoglobin released into the plasma, and then into the intestine, and bilirubin in the intestine combined to form bilirubin-hemoglobin complex, so that the stool appears yellow.
