How to Check If You Have Colitis

Committed to your health journey.
Colitis can be diagnosed by laboratory examination, imaging examination and pathological examination.
1. Laboratory examination
such as blood routine examination shows that white blood cells and neutrophils are elevated, and intestinal infection can be suspected. If red blood cells and hemoglobin are decreased, it may indicate that there is gastrointestinal bleeding, which has the role of auxiliary judgment of colitis.
2. Imaging examination
If the patient has obvious abdominal pain, abdominal X-ray or CT examination can also be done, which can be used to rule out acute abdomen and determine whether there is abnormality in colon.
3. Pathological examination
If the above examination fails to make a clear diagnosis, further pathological examination can be done, which is an important examination for diagnosing colitis, and can also determine the relevant etiology and degree of injury.
