Severe atrophic gastritis
is usually caused by Helicobacter pylori infection. Patients can be treated with proton pump inhibitors, antibiotics and bismuth agents, such as rabeprazole, amoxicillin, metronidazole, bismuth pectin, etc., so as to eliminate Helicobacter pylori.
