Difference between type a and type b atrophic gastritis

Type A atrophic

gastritis and type B atrophic gastritis are both types of atrophic gastritis. Type A atrophic gastritis is mainly located in the body and fundus of the stomach. Type B atrophic gastritis is mainly located in the antrum of the stomach.

. Etiology

Type A atrophic gastritis is caused by autoimmune reaction, while type B atrophic gastritis is mostly caused by Helicobacter pylori infection.

3. Serum gastrin content

examination shows that the serum gastrin content of type A atrophic gastritis is obviously increased, and the value will be higher when accompanied by pernicious anemia. The serum gastrin content of type B atrophic gastritis is generally normal or low.
