What is the difference between colonoscopy and proctoscopy?

Guiding you to a healthier tomorrow.
Enteroscopy includes proctoscopy, others also include colonoscopy, enteroscopy, etc. The differences between proctoscopy and colonoscopy, enteroscopy, etc. include different examination sites, different examination times, different adverse reactions, etc.
1. Different examination sites
Rectoscopy is mainly to check whether there are lesions in the rectal segment, colonoscopy and enteroscopy are to check the colon segment and intestinal mucosa respectively.
2, different examination time
Rectoscopy is closer to the anus, the examination time is shorter, mostly in 10-15 minutes, the distance between the middle colon and the anus is about 50cm; the descending colon is about 70-80cm away from the anus, which is shorter than the anus. The examination time takes about 30 minutes or even longer. The distance between the small intestine and the anus is about 145cm, and the examination takes 2-3 hours.
3. Adverse reactions are different.
Rectoscopy takes a short time and does not go deep into the intestinal tract. Its nausea and abdominal distension symptoms are mild. Colonoscopy and enteroscopy are more invasive, and their discomfort symptoms are obvious.
