Causes of Esophagitis

Healing hearts, one patient at a time.
Esophagitis refers to esophagitis. The causes of esophagitis include chemical stimulation, physical stimulation, infection, etc.
1. Chemical stimulation
If the patient drinks alcohol for a long time, eats strong acid and strong alkali food, takes non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, etc., it may lead to a decrease in the pressure of the lower esophageal sphincter, leading to a weakening of the body's anti-reflux barrier, thus causing esophagitis.
2. Physical stimulation
If the patient eats hot food for a long time, foreign bodies exist in the esophagus, and long-term placement of nasogastric tubes, etc., it may continue to damage the esophageal mucosa, thus causing esophagitis.
3. Infection
When the patient is attacked by pathogens such as Candida albicans, herpes simplex virus-1, cytomegalovirus, etc., it may damage the esophageal mucosa, resulting in infectious esophagitis.
