What is a foreign body sensation in the esophagus

Building a healthier future together.
Foreign body sensation in esophagus may be related to increased secretions, food incarceration, reflux esophagitis and other factors.
1. Increased secretions The
esophageal mucosa can continuously exude secretions, which has the effect of wetting the surrounding mucosa. If it is not discharged through coughing for a long time, it can accumulate too much in the local area, causing foreign body sensation in the esophagus.
2. Food incarceration such
as overeating, eating too fast, eating coarse food, etc., are easy to cause food incarceration in the esophagus, continuously stimulating the surrounding mucosa, causing foreign body sensation in the esophagus.
3. Reflux esophagitis
Patients with reflux esophagitis are vulnerable to invasion of gastric contents due to weakened esophageal defense barrier function, and may also show foreign body sensation in the esophagus.
