What are the symptoms of chronic gastric ulcer?

Restoring balance, one patient at a time.
Chronic gastric ulcer complications include bleeding, perforation, obstruction, etc.
1. Bleeding
Chronic gastric ulcer may lead to rupture of gastric mucosal blood vessels, causing gastric bleeding, which may be manifested as vomiting or melena. Severe bleeding may lead to anemia and shock symptoms.
2. Perforation
In some cases, chronic gastric ulcer may penetrate the stomach wall and cause digestive tract perforation. This is an emergency situation requiring immediate surgery.
3. Obstruction
Ulcer is located near the fundus of the stomach or pylorus, which may lead to narrowing of gastric passages, blocking the normal flow of food through the stomach, causing obstruction, leading to nausea, vomiting, flatulence and other symptoms.
