How does cholecystitis form?

Empowering lives through health.
Cholecystitis is caused by bacteria infection, gallstones, shock, etc.
1. Bacterial infection Under
normal circumstances, bile in the gallbladder has antibacterial effect, which can inhibit the growth of bacteria. However, when the emptying of the gallbladder is blocked, the bile in the gallbladder is retained and concentrated, which may lead to excessive growth of bacteria, thus causing cholecystitis.
2.
Cholelithiasis is one of the common causes of cholecystitis. Cholelithiasis is a solid substance formed in the gallbladder, composed of cholesterol, cholesterol pigment and calcium salts in the bile. When gallstones in the gallbladder block the cystic duct in the neck of the gallbladder, the bile in the gallbladder cannot be discharged, which easily causes inflammation and infection of the gallbladder wall, namely cholecystitis.
3. Shock
Due to the decrease of blood volume caused by shock, the blood supply in the gallbladder site may be insufficient, which may cause ischemic necrosis, inflammatory diseases and cholecystitis.
