Complications of duodenal ulcer

Complications of duodenal ulcer mainly include bleeding, perforation and obstruction.

1. Bleeding

is a common complication of duodenal ulcer, often caused by ulcer invasion and blood vessels, which can be manifested as positive stool occult blood test or vomiting and black stools.

2. Perforation

For deep ulcers, it is often prone to perforation, which can be manifested as sudden, severe and persistent abdominal pain, and the pain site is relatively fixed.

3. Obstruction

is often caused by ulcer attack, local inflammatory edema and pyloric smooth muscle spasm. Common symptoms are vomiting.
