How to identify upper gastrointestinal bleeding

Upper gastrointestinal bleeding can be diagnosed by clinical manifestations, laboratory examination, endoscopy and other ways.
1. Clinical manifestations
If the patient has symptoms such as hematemesis, melena, dizziness, pale face, fatigue, chills, etc., it can highly suggest the existence of upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
2. Laboratory examination of
patients can be carried out for fecal occult blood test. If the result is positive, combined with the above symptoms, it can be preliminarily diagnosed as upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
3. Endoscopic examination of
patients can also be carried out. If there is a clear bleeding point on the esophageal wall, gastric wall or duodenal wall, it can be diagnosed as upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
