How to interpret the four items of serum stomach function

Dedicated to your healing journey.
The four items of serum gastric function include pepsinogen I, pepsinogen II, pepsinogen I/II ratio and Helicobacter pylori antibody. The interpretation is as follows:
1. Pepsinogen I
Pepsinogen I is secreted by the main cells and mucus neck cells of gastric fundus gland, which can reflect the secretory function of gastric mucosa. If pepsinogen I is elevated, it is considered to be related to gastritis, gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer and other diseases.
2. Pepsinogen II
Pepsinogen II is secreted by gastric fundus gland and parietal cells. If the index is lowered, it is necessary to be alert to gastric mucosal atrophy and gastric cancer.
3. Pepsinogen I/II ratio
Pepsinogen I/II ratio can distinguish gastric diseases. Low ratio, may be atrophic gastritis, gastric cancer, etc. The ratio may be increased with chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer and other diseases.
4, Helicobacter pylori
antibody detection is mainly used to diagnose the presence of Helicobacter pylori infection. If the antibody is positive, indicating the presence of Helicobacter pylori infection.
