What is the role and function of thyroid?

Thyroid gland has the function of synthesizing, storing and secreting thyroxine. Thyroid gland is an endocrine organ of human body. It can increase oxygen consumption of cells in the body, generate energy, promote blood circulation of the body, and promote the decomposition of fat and protein. If thyroid secretion is too high, it will cause the patient to show hyperthyroidism. Antithyroid drugs can be used to treat it. When thyroid function is low, it will cause the patient to show short stature.
