Dog days plaster is a traditional China treatment technique. It refers to plaster with special ointment applied to corresponding acupuncture points during dog days to improve immunity and reduce the incidence of certain diseases in winter. It is characterized by treating winter diseases in summer. It is often used to treat diseases that are prone to occur in winter, such as cough due to deficiency cold, asthma, bronchopneumonia, etc. It is usually applied three times a year for 4~6 hours on the first day of dog days. If the patient shows symptoms of allergy, it should be removed immediately, possibly to a plaster or to a pharmaceutical ingredient.
