Thyroid nodules do not necessarily need surgery. For benign thyroid nodules, if the nodule size is small and does not cause any clinical symptoms, regular follow-up can be carried out. If the thyroid nodule size is too large, it causes compression symptoms, resulting in hoarseness and dysphagia, which requires timely surgery.
