Symptoms of type 2 respiratory failure

Type II respiratory failure is caused by carbon dioxide retention, which may cause dizziness, headache, general fatigue and chest tightness, as well as symptoms of trance, rapid heartbeat and optic papilledema. In severe cases, gastrointestinal bleeding and coma may occur.
