How long does it take to recover from laceration?

The tear is divided into 4 degrees, 1 degree refers to skin laceration, 2 degrees includes subcutaneous muscle, 3 degrees includes levator ani muscle, 4 degrees includes external anal sphincter, and even rectal mucosa. Most of the lacerations are 1 or 2 degrees, which can be recovered in 3-5 days by simple suture. For 3rd or 4th degree laceration, layered suture of rectal mucosa, external anal sphincter and levator ani muscle should be done, which is slightly more complicated, and the recovery will be slower. Generally, it can be recovered in 1-2 weeks. If there is wound infection, dehiscence, etc., the recovery time will be greatly prolonged, even more than one month.
