Do you still have to do HPV after doing TCT?

After TCT, it is recommended to do an HPV test. The accuracy rate of TCT cervical liquid-based cytology results is about 70%. If only TCT test is done and the result is negative, it is not certain that there is no possibility of lesions. If combined with HPV test, the accuracy rate of test results will be greatly improved, at about 95%. If TCT and HPV are normal, the risk of cervical cancer is generally very low within three years. Therefore, it is recommended that patients undergo TCT combined with HPV screening. If necessary, colposcopy can also be done. When colposcopy, HPV and TCT are done together, the accuracy of the results can be close to 100%. If the test results are normal, it can be done again in two to three years.
