What is abdominal aortic dissection?

Aortic dissection is a critical cardiovascular disease. The most common classification is Stanford classification. Type A refers to involvement of the ascending aorta regardless of origin. Type B refers to type III if it originates from the descending thoracic aorta but does not involve the ascending aorta.
