Is neonatal jaundice severe?

Neonatal physiological jaundice is not serious, full-term infants physiological jaundice will appear 2-3 days after birth, generally in 7-10 days will resolve, premature jaundice in 2-4 weeks will resolve. Pathological jaundice, if bilirubin exceeds 20mg/dl, or more serious, should be blue light irradiation treatment and drug treatment.
