How to eliminate ascites

Liver ascites can be eliminated by general treatment, drug treatment, surgical treatment and other methods.

1. General treatment

patients should rest in bed, reduce liver metabolic load, but also need to control the intake of water and sodium salt, appropriate amount of carbohydrates, protein, fat and other components.

2. Drug treatment

For a small number of ascites patients can be prescribed to use spironolactone, furosemide, torvaptan and other drugs to promote the discharge of water and sodium.

3. Surgical treatment

For refractory liver ascites patients, can be treated by abdominal puncture, transjugular intrahepatic shunt and other methods.
