How to do cervical biopsy

Healing with hope, guiding with care.
Cervical biopsy is on the basis of cytology. If cytological abnormalities are found, histological detection is done under the guidance of colposcopy. In general, colposcopy is performed after disinfection of vulva and vagina. Colposcopy indicates that there is pathological change on the cervix. Tissue is taken out from the suspicious part with special biopsy forceps. Tissue is about 0.3-0.5 cm. Generally, bleeding will not be much. After biopsy, gauze ball will be packed in vagina for compression hemostasis. After 24 hours of compression, you can take out the compressed gauze ball in the bathroom by yourself. If you can't take it out by yourself, you can go to the hospital and ask the doctor to help you take out the compressed gauze ball. Take out the tissue and send it to pathological examination. According to the results of the examination, determine whether the next step is to do further treatment. After the cervical biopsy is done, the patient usually rests in the hospital for about half an hour and can walk home by himself. There is no pain.
