Bacterial liver abscess caused by what

Bacterial liver abscess is mainly caused by biliary obstruction, abdominal infection, wound invasion, etc.

1. Biliary obstruction

If the patient has biliary obstruction, a large number of bacteria will form in the biliary tract and ascend through the biliary system to cause bacterial liver abscess.

2. Abdominal infection

If the patient has abdominal infection and subsequently causes thrombophlebitis, the emboli associated with thrombosis will fall off, and the septic bacteria will enter the liver along the portal vein system to induce disease.

3. Wound invasion

If the patient has an open injury to the liver, when bacteria invade the liver through the wound, it will generally cause disease.
