How fast does small cell lung cancer spread?

Your health is my mission, your recovery is my joy.
Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is a type of lung cancer in which cancer cells can spread rapidly. SCLC has a short doubling time, rapid progression, often accompanied by endocrine abnormalities and paraneoplastic syndrome, distant metastasis can occur early, and radiotherapy sensitivity after metastasis is poor.
SCLC is prone to distant metastasis and its spreading speed is relatively fast. SCLC is sensitive to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. SCLC is
mainly treated with prophylactic whole brain radiotherapy. After chemotherapy, if the lesion is limited, local radiotherapy
is feasible. SCLC patients should be reviewed regularly in order to detect recurrence or metastasis early.
SCLC patients should be actively treated and maintain a good attitude, while paying attention to nutritional support to improve their quality of life and prolong their survival.
