Difference Between Low and High Risk HPV

Restoring health, restoring hope.
The difference between HPV low-risk and high-risk is mainly caused by different lesions. High-risk HPV virus infection generally causes cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, even cervical cancer. The most common high-risk HPV types refer to HPV 16, 18, 52, 31, 33, etc.; while low-risk HPV virus infection mainly causes condyloma acuminatum, generally HPV 6 and 11. For women infected with low-risk HPV, it may cause condyloma acuminatum in vulva, vagina, and even cervix, but generally does not cause cervical intraepithelial lesions or cervical cancer. For women infected with simple high-risk HPV virus, it will not show condyloma acuminatum. However, persistent infection is associated with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical cancer, especially type 16 and 18 persistent infection, which has been shown to be associated with 70 percent of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical cancer.
