How to prevent idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis

Restoring balance, one patient at a time.
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, the cause of disease is unclear at this stage, mainly manifested as progressive dyspnea, difficult to correct hypoxemia. For its prevention, mainly to prevent secondary bacterial infection, smoking patients are advised to quit smoking, prevention of influenza and pneumonia, and at the same time strengthen lung function exercise, as well as lung rehabilitation training. If there is obvious hypoxemia at rest, oxygen partial pressure is lower than 55 mm Hg, long-term oxygen therapy should be implemented. However, invasive mechanical ventilation is generally not recommended for respiratory failure caused by pulmonary fibrosis. Lung transplantation is the most effective treatment for pulmonary fibrosis at this stage.
