What disease is lung whitening?

Whitening of the lungs is not a separate disease, but an imaging manifestation. If it is shown on chest X-ray or chest CT, it can be seen in many diseases. Infectious diseases are more common causes, such as severe pneumonia, which may cause diffuse lung damage and even acute respiratory distress syndrome. In clinical practice, lung infections caused by certain special pathogens are relatively more likely to cause lung whitening. For example, pcp pneumonia is easy to cause lung whitening.
