Is pulmonary fibrosis treatable?

Your health is my mission, your recovery is my joy.
Pulmonary fibrosis is difficult to treat, because there is no specific drug in clinical practice. The main purpose of treatment is to delay the progression of the disease, improve the quality of life, and prolong the survival period, including drug treatment and non-drug treatment. Drug treatment such as pirfenidone and acetylcysteine can slow down the deterioration of lung function or reduce the frequency of acute exacerbation to a certain extent. Some patients with pulmonary fibrosis can consider using it, but the effect is not accurate. Non-drug therapy mainly refers to lung rehabilitation training as much as possible. Under resting state, if there is obvious hypoxemia and oxygen partial pressure is less than 55 mm Hg, long-term oxygen therapy should be implemented. Lung transplantation is the most effective treatment method for pulmonary fibrosis at this stage.
