TB, if left untreated for a year, may worsen the disease, showing further enlargement of the lung lesions, resulting in more severe clinical symptoms, such as cough, expectoration, hemoptysis, and some showing severe decline in lung function, such as chest tightness, shortness of breath, wheezing, and breathing difficulties. A year without treatment also leads to more and more people becoming infected, thus making TB more difficult to cure and even showing combination resistance or relapse.
