Adenomatoid hyperplasia of the lung may be a precancerous lesion that may eventually progress to adenocarcinoma. Adenocarcinoma of the lung is a pathological type of lung cancer. The typical progression of this type of lung cancer is from atypical adenomatoid hyperplasia to carcinoma in situ, gradually progressing to microinvasive adenocarcinoma, and eventually developing into typical adenocarcinoma of the lung. Atypical adenomatous hyperplasia, although not a true lung adenocarcinoma but a precancerous lesion, can progress to lung adenocarcinoma. Atypical adenomatous hyperplasia may appear as ground-glass nodules on chest ct, carcinoma in situ, and microinvasive adenocarcinoma may also appear as ground-glass nodules on chest ct. Therefore, the ground glass nodules found in chest ct cannot be excluded from lung adenocarcinoma or precancerous lesions, and need to be evaluated comprehensively in hospital.
