What is the difference between emphysema and COPD?

Emphysema is a type of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Emphysema is a pathological condition in which the airway elasticity of the distal end of the bronchus decreases, hyperinflation increases, and the airway wall is destroyed. COPD is also known as obstructive pulmonary disease. It is a general term for chronic bronchitis and emphysema with airway obstruction characteristics. It can further develop into cor pulmonale and respiratory failure. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is associated with abnormal inflammatory reactions of harmful gases and particles, and develops chronically. Treatment is mainly to improve symptoms.
