Causes of oral viral herpes

Oral herpes includes oral herpes simplex, oral herpes zoster, hand, foot and mouth disease. Oral herpes simplex is caused by herpes simplex virus, infection of the human body is very common. Mouth, skin, eyes, perineum, nervous system and other parts are often vulnerable to invasion. Human is its natural host, can be divided into primary herpetic stomatitis and recurrent herpetic stomatitis. Primary herpetic stomatitis is more common in children, recurrent herpetic stomatitis is more common in adults, mainly manifested as cold sores. Oral herpes zoster is an acute infectious disease caused by varicella zoster virus. Hand-foot-and-mouth disease is an infectious disease caused by enteroviruses. There are more than 20 enteroviruses causing hand-foot-and-mouth disease, of which coxsackievirus A16 and enterovirus 71 are the most common, mostly occurring in children under 3 years of age.
