How many heart valves do people have?

There are four normal heart valves, mainly including mitral valve, tricuspid valve, pulmonary valve and aortic valve.

Heart valve refers to the valve between atrium and ventricle or between ventricle and artery, its role is to prevent blood backflow, mainly including mitral valve, tricuspid valve, pulmonary valve and aortic valve. Mitral valve is located between left ventricle and left atrium; tricuspid valve is located between right ventricle and right atrium; pulmonary valve is located at the outlet of right ventricle; aortic valve is located at the outlet of left ventricle.

If heart valve stenosis or insufficiency occurs, it is easy to lead to heart function decline of patients, causing shortness of breath, chest tightness, fatigue and limited activity tolerance.
