Congenital adrenocortical hyperplasia is an autosomal recessive genetic disease. Due to the congenital lack of enzymes required for cortisol synthesis, cortisol synthesis is insufficient, and negative feedback stimulates pituitary secretion of adrenocorticotropin, resulting in adrenal hyperplasia and excessive cortisol secretion. Clinically, hyponatremia, hyperkalemia, severe cases can be life-threatening. If the diagnosis is clear, glucocorticoid therapy should be applied early and electrolyte imbalance corrected in time. Electrolytes and adrenal secretion should be monitored regularly during treatment.
