What is adrenal function?

Adrenal gland function is to maintain normal vital signs and induce stress response. Adrenal gland is an important endocrine organ of human body. Histologically, adrenal gland is divided into adrenal cortex and adrenal medulla. Adrenal cortex secretes mineralocorticoid, glucocorticoid and sex hormone, mineralocorticoid is mainly aldosterone; glucocorticoid is mainly cortisol; sex hormone is mainly androgen and a small amount of estrogen. Adrenal medulla mainly secretes adrenaline and noradrenaline. Therefore, if the adrenal cortex or medulla shows a tumor or hyperplasia disease, it will cause abnormal secretion of these hormones due to uncontrolled, thus causing a series of diseases. Adrenal dysfunction, these hormones will be disturbed, which may cause aldosteronism, cortisol, pheochromocytoma.
