Laser lithotripsy for kidney stones

If the kidney stone is relatively large, laser lithotripsy can be selected. Among them, the more common methods are ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy and percutaneous nephroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy. These two surgical methods are minimally invasive surgery. In comparison, ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy will cause less damage to the kidney. Percutaneous nephroscopic surgery requires a passage in the kidney, so it still has some trauma. However, the advantage of percutaneous nephrolithotomy with holmium laser is that the stone clearance rate is relatively high and the broken stones can be washed out, which is better than soft endoscopic surgery.
