What does left ventricular enlargement mean?

Enlarged left

ventricle is usually caused by enlargement of left ventricle or left atrium, which may be related to rheumatic mitral valve insufficiency, aortic valve stenosis, hypertensive heart disease, etc. Enlarged left atrium may be caused by mitral valve insufficiency, mitral valve stenosis and cardiac tumor.

Patients should further undergo ECG, MRI and other examinations to determine the type of disease according to the examination results.
