What causes patellar malacia?

Healing with compassion, caring with purpose.
For patients who show patellar softening, this situation is related to patellar trauma. In particular, patellar trauma is direct or indirect, resulting in damage to the articular cartilage surface. Later, it is easy to cause cartilage fracture and exfoliation, resulting in patellar arthritis. There are also cases of patellar dysplasia and instability. For example, if the patella is high or low, or if there is obvious patellar ligament dysplasia, it will cause patellar subluxation, or abnormal friction with the cartilage surface of the femoral condyle, thus causing the manifestation of patellar malacia. There is also a patient with chondrodystrophy, which is easy to cause abnormal development and abnormal friction of the cartilage surface of the patellar region. Therefore, it causes the manifestation of patellar malacia.
