Hands scalded by boiling water should be removed from heat source as soon as possible, cold compress with ice pack or flowing cold water, rinse for at least 20 minutes, and then apply scald ointment externally. If blisters appear, use sterile syringe after local disinfection, suction out the liquid in the blisters, and then apply scald ointment sterile gauze bandage.
